Now tailored for grandparents, Triple P gives you simple and practical strategies to help you confidently manage your grandchildren’s behaviour, prevent problems developing and build strong, healthy relationships within the family.

The POWER OF POSITIVE GRANDPARENTING provides the building blocks for the programme as it introduces grandparents to five core principles of positive grandparenting:
RAISING CONFIDENT, COMPETENT GRANDCHILDREN builds on the foundation seminar and shows grandparents how you can use positive parenting principles to teach grandchildren important values and skills, including encouraging respect, cooperation, getting on with others, learning to be independent, developing a healthy self-esteem and learning to become good problem-solvers. These competencies enable grandchildren to do well both in school and beyond.
RAISING RESILIENT GRANDCHILDREN focuses on helping grandchildren learn emotion regulation skills. Grandparents are often uncertain about how to respond to grandchildren’s expression of emotions in ways that help grandchildren learn to manage their feelings. This seminar deals with how to help grandchildren:
About the Trainer
Mdm Tan Chiew Lang has a Graduate Diploma and a Masters in Social Work from the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). She is an experienced Family Life Educator, recognised by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), to conduct evidence-based parenting programme like Positive Parenting Programme (Triple P). She also has an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA). Moreover, being an approved trainer and counsellor, Chiew Lang had conducted various programmes for the Singapore Prison Service.
With more than 10 years of experience in the social service sector, Chiew Lang has worked with numerous at-risk and vulnerable families. Besides remedial and intervention social work, she actively conducts programmes and workshops in preschools, primary and secondary schools, workplaces and the community.
As a social worker, she helps individuals in pacing of their socio-emotional issues. She also acts as a Point of Contact for community referrals for various schemes and assistance. Chiew Lang provides her clients a holistic suite of family intervention services to uplift them from their current situations.
Currently, she serves the parents and children under the MSF Probation Unit by conducting Triple P for the parents and GEAR-UP for at-risk students. She is also conducting restorative programmes for the inmates in Singapore Changi Prison.
She is married with an adult child.
