CORE PRINCIPLES OF BUILDING MENTAL RESILIENCE provides the building blocks for the programme as it introduces parents to five core principles of positive parenting:
CONFIDENT & COMPETENT CHILDREN builds on the foundation webinar and shows parents how you can use positive parenting principles to teach children important values and skills, including encouraging respect, cooperation, getting on with others, learning to be independent, developing a healthy self-esteem and learning to become good problem-solvers. These competencies enable children to do well both in school and beyond.
RESILIENT CHILDREN focuses on helping children learn emotion regulation skills. Parents are often uncertain about how to respond to children’s expression of emotions in ways that help children learn to manage their feelings. This webinar deals with how to help children:
Mr Ahmad Taufiq Muhammed is a compassionate, committed and an inspirational speaker, with more than 18 years of experience conducting life skills and family education workshops in primary and secondary schools, junior colleges and tertiary institutions in Singapore. He enjoys engaging parents in discussing their role as social and emotional supports for their children, and has conducted programmes for at-risk and underprivileged children and youths on topics like bullying, self-harm and a myriad of children and youth issues.
“We are not alone in parenting woes of our growing child with emotions and study blues. It helps to understand how to tackle daily issues with a child who cannot follow rules and limits.”
— Ong SL, Mother, Triple P Level 2 Primary participant
