Standard Chartered Marathon 2016
As a non-profit organisation, Morning Star raises funds from various sponsorships and programmes to cover our operational expenses. The Standard Chartered Marathon is one annual fundraising event which seeks to raise monies in order to cover the operational expenses of our key programmes for the year.
On 4 December 2016, 41 participants took part in the Standard Chartered Marathon to raise funds for our newly launched CareNights @ Morning Star programme. Flagged off from Esplanade Drive, the route presented a chance for participants from Morning Star Community Services to visit and spot several landmarks in Singapore, such as the Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Sands and the Padang.
It was a truly good opportunity for both staff and volunteers from Morning Star to bond over the entire duration of the run. An appreciation lunch was also held for all participants after the event.
