Morning Star Community Services is an Institute of Public Character (IPC) which aims to strengthen family relationships in Singapore. We provide upstream, preventive and early intervention programmes, family life education workshops and counselling services.
Funds raised will be channelled to the operations of CareNights, our free evening care for children of families in need, serving parents who are experiencing pressing needs such as having to work overtime, taking night classes, attending to family crises, or for parents who are single-handedly caring for their children. The children come to our centres from Monday to Friday, 6pm to 10pm. They are provided with dinner and engaged in various activities to support their learning of values and skills. The programme also creates opportunities for family bonding and parenting education through facilitated activities and workshops. The CareNights programme runs with the help of volunteers. Morning Star now offers CareNights at three centres, caring for more than 60 children.
