Understanding the Tween Years

A Transition period for children and parents

The pre-teen years is a time of transition for children and parents. As our children gain in critical thinking skills and experience the curiosity about life, they question instructions and standards that parents set. It can be challenging for parents to also learn how to mentor their children whilst maintaining proper standards.

Key Areas Covered:

Parents will

  • Explore the developmental stages of pre-teens and the issues they face
  • Learn how to meet pre-teens’ various needs
  • Explore the different ways of communicating with pre-teens

Duration:

1 session of 3 hr

Target Audience:

Parents of upper primary and secondary school teens
