The Incredible Years® Small Group Dinosaur Programme (Child Therapy) Comprehensive
« Back to The Incredible Years
For kindergarten and primary school children aged 6 to 8 years with behaviour challenges
The Incredible Years® Small Group Dinosaur (Therapy) curriculum is for children with social, conduct problems, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and internalising problems. It is delivered in 1.5-hour weekly fun and engaging small group sessions (3 – 4 children per group) over 18 weeks. Through highly interactive activities, children will be coached in social and emotion regulation skills, as well as life skills like problem solving and decision making skills.
Parents will attend The Incredible Years® Parenting Programme concurrently to learn to support their child through the curriculum. The programme guides parents in using positive discipline to manage misbehaviour and reduce harsh discipline, fostering your ability to promote your child’s social, emotional and academic development, and strengthening parent-child interactions and attachment. You will also learn how to build school readiness skills and partner with teachers or day care professionals so that you can promote your child’s emotion regulation and social skills both in school and at home. In the parenting group sessions, trained Incredible Years® facilitators will use video clips of real-life situational vignettes to support the training and trigger parenting group discussions, problem solving, and real-time practice exercises.
