Temasek Foundation Cares - CareNights@Morning Star

The free programme provides temporary night care for children aged between 7 and 14. It is offered to parents whose combined income is up to $4,000 (gross, or a per capita of up to $1,000)*.


And meets one or more of the following criteria:


  • Child is not adequately supervised at home and is at risk of delinquency
  • The family is seeking to improve their social mobility by upgrading their skills or returning to night school
  • The family is attending to a family crisis, such as sudden illness or divorce
  • The family has parent single-handedly caring for the child
  • The family is seeking to improve their economic condition by working overtime or taking on a second employment at night


Operating on weekday nights from 6 pm to 10 pm, CareNights provides nutritious dinners and engages children aged 7 to 14 in structured activities to support their learning of values and skills.  Providing caregiving support for up to six months, CareNights facilitators assist the children with their homework and provide a platform for them to discover their strengths or talents through Art for Therapy, performing arts, indoor games or sports. The programme also creates opportunities for family bonding and parenting education through facilitated activities and workshops.


Our CareNights centres in both Seng Kang and Bedok North Avenue 4 are able to accommodate up to 30 children each at a time. Referrals from voluntary welfare organisations, schools or government agencies are welcome. Walk-in clients are also accepted.
