Family-based Programmes and Services

“ To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right. ”

Parents and the Family

Our programmes address the practical concerns of today's parents in the many roles they play as providers, disciplinarians, guides, coaches, and mentors. Parents obtain a deeper understanding of their child's make-up and needs and walk away with skills they can use to respond to their child's needs.

Our many programme topics for parents include:

  • Passing on values to our children
  • Raising responsible children
  • Positive discipline
  • Relating to our children
  • Nurturing a love for learning
  • Using the Five Love Languages to build our children's self esteem
  • Managing power struggles
  • Motivating our children
  • Helping our children manage stress

Our Common Sense Parenting Workshops have significantly raised the confidence of many parents through empowering and training them with specific skills and awareness.

“ I saw a great improvement in the behaviour of my child after attending the Common Sense Parenting Workshop. Now he listens to me and follows instructions without arguing and throwing tantrums. ”

Couples & the Family

With all the demands of family life, the couple relationship can often be set aside. Through experiential workshops, talks and seminars of our Marriage Enrichment Programmes, we draw out new learnings for the couples in their attitude and response towards self and spouse. They build on the existing strengths of their marriage and renew their commitment to each other- the commitment to relate and grow as a couple.

Family Community Programmes
Connections under the Stars

These are fun get-togethers on one Saturday evening per quarter for families we have encountered through our programmes and services. The families socialize and enjoy a night under the stars with dinner and games. It is also an outreach platform for new families that would like to be part of the Morning Star Community.

My Family Times

This programme is aimed at providing the family with light-hearted learning or outdoor activities for the afternoon to enjoy their time together. Activities include: making handicraft items as a family; family telematch; family nature walk; family baking and more.
