Frequently Asked Questions

Q1 : How do you fund your operations?

We run a Before & After School Care service which provides us a regular source of income. However, this is insufficient to finance our operations. The rest of our funds come from caring foundations, organisations, corporations and individuals. We also carry out fund-raising activities periodically.

Donations are very important to us. They help us to sustain the work we are doing and determine whether we are able to expand the scope of what we are already carrying out. Any amount we receive helps.

If you wish to make a donation, send your crossed cheque to MORNING STAR COMMUNITY SERVICES at 4 Lorong Low Koon Singapore 536450.

Q2 : Are donations to Morning Star Community Services tax deductible?

Yes. We are a registered VWO and member of the National Council of Social Service. All donations to us are tax deductible. In fact, all outright cash donations given by individuals or corporations will be entitled to double tax deduction.

Q3 : Can I make an anonymous donation?

Yes. Specify your desire to remain anonymous and we will respect your request. However, we would need your identity card number if you would like to claim tax deduction for your donation.

Q4 : I am interested in some of your programmes and services but cannot afford to pay the fees? Do you provide subsidies?

Morning Star has a Hardship Fund to help those who need our services but cannot afford to pay. No one will be deprived of our services and programmes solely on financial grounds. The decision to subsidise and the amount of subsidy will be determined after a fair and compassionate assessment of each request.

Q5 : Can you run your programmes for my corporation? How do I go about it?

We will be more than pleased to extend our programmes to any corporation. There are a few ways to go about arranging it:
